I’ve completed the power leveling guides up to Luclin thus far with plans to go all the way up to about Omens of War. But before I do that I want to take time to make grinding and assisted leveling guides for people who aren’t boxing a ton of characters or paying for power leveling services.
There are other guides out there that give zones rating and mention areas and while I find these generally helpful, they lack and ignore some really basic things, Mob Density and Individual camps.
In some of these other guides if the whole zone or a large part of the zone isn’t a high rated spot to level then the entire zone gets a poor rating. This is probably the least helpful thing I’ve ever seen as even in these low rated zones there are usually an individual camp or two that are at least average to above average as compared to other areas.
Needless to say, I am spending time going from zone to zone and trying to locate decent camps that exist for people soloing or with small groups.
The second biggest mistake the other guides make is what I refer to as Mob Density. Mob Density or available mobs is like the biggest factor most people should take into consideration when they are choosing camps or grinding in Everquest.
Because there is no mention of camp size or mob density in almost any other guide you are left to guess or just go see for yourself. I feel like one of the most important things you should know is whether there are 5 mobs available or 40 before you head out to the zone so you know what size camp you’re about to take on and how big of a group you can have.
It’s a slow process and I’ll be starting with an Everquest Classic Grinding Guide, I haven’t determined how this will look but I will try to get sortable tables in place where you can sort by several different features to find an exact spot that works for you.
The data I’m tracking so far looks like this in spreadsheets and there will also be an added column for my personal rating.
I plan to update and add to these spots based on comments and user feedback so you will be able to see your spot in here if it’s not listed.
Eventually you will be able to click on the description and it will bring you to a map that shows the exact location, but I’m in the process of going zone by zone and gathering the data and examining camps, camp sizes, and respawn times right now which will take some time.
